Dr. Musharraf Hussain is the chief Imam and CEO of Karimia institute, Nottingham, U. K. and the translator of The Majestic Quran, which was published in 2018. He was awarded an OBE by the Queen in 2008 for his services to community relations in Britain.
Formerly, the chairman of the Christian Muslim forum (2008-10), and founder of Faiths in action, a Nottingham-based interfaith organization promoting Christian Muslim relations. Dr Musharraf Hussain memorised the Majestic Quran, learnt Arabic language and a certificate of Tajweed. He studied science at Aston University and then worked as a research scientist for many years. In 1990 he decided to quit science and dedicate himself to serving the UK Muslims. He is also a graduate of Darul uloom, Muslim seminary Pakistan, and Al-Azhar university Egypt. He has written more than 300 essays on diverse topics from consumerism to contentment. The ‘Let’s learn Islam’ series of 18 books is widely taught in UK Madrassas and Quran schools. His text book on Islam ‘Religion and beliefs’ published by Oxford press is used in UK’s Secondary schools.
